Mr. Sunny Sanyal is the CEO of Varex Imaging Corp., a Utah-based public company that designs and manufactures critical components of systems for medical and industrial imaging applications globally. The company has operations in the US, Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, China, and Philippines. He serves on the board of Varex Imaging and is a supervisory board member of MeVis Medical Solutions AG, a German public software and AI company. In the past, he has served on the boards of Medical Imaging Technology Alliance (MITA) and the Healthcare Information Management Society (HIMSS).

Sanyal has over 25 years’ experience in senior leadership roles in healthcare technology and services, during which he has gained insights that have made him adept at navigating complex market, regulatory, and competitive dynamics. Prior to his role at Varex, he held leadership positions as president of Varian Medical Systems’ Imaging Components Division, CEO of T System, president of McKesson Provider Technologies, and vice president and general manager at GE HealthCare. He has received numerous recognitions in his career, including being recognized as the CEO of the Year by BioUtah in 2021.

Sanyal received a BE in electrical engineering from the University of Mumbai, an MS in industrial engineering from Louisiana State University, and an MBA from Harvard University. He continues to advance his knowledge of contemporary leadership and governance best practices through quarterly meetings with technology company CEOs via CCI Silicon Valley Executive Summit, attending Stanford Directors’ College, and NACD events. He has received NACD Directorship Certification and CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight. He resides in Sandy, Utah, with his wife of 25 years and their three daughters. He enjoys cooking, skiing, and traveling.
