A seasoned multidiscipline leader, attorney Javier Chavez Jr. has over 20 years of collective experience in legal services, international corporations, and startups.

Born and raised in Utah, Chavez began his career at Duane Morris LLC, an Am Law 100 international law firm, in New York City. Afterward, he transitioned to the corporate business world as associate general counsel at Edward Jones, a Fortune 500 financial services company. Chavez then joined Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. (NYSE: AJG), a Fortune 500 and publicly traded corporation and the world’s third largest insurance brokerage company.

Excited to start his own ventures, Chavez returned home to Utah in 2017. He opened his own law firm focused on business matters and also founded a beverage manufacturer, Cerveza Zólupez Beer Co. Additionally, Chavez helps counsel his family’s Mexican restaurants.

Based on his achievements and reputation, Chavez was appointed honorary commander of Hill Air Force Base, 75th Air Base Wing, a civilian leadership position.

A much-sought-after advisor, Chavez serves on a number of governance boards. He is on the board of trustees of Ogden Regional Medical Center, a hospital owned by HCA Healthcare (NYSE: HCA), a publicly traded Fortune 100 company. More recently, Utah Governor Spencer Cox appointed Chavez to serve on the Utah Board of Higher Education, the 10-person board that oversees all Utah public colleges and universities.

Chavez graduated from the University of Utah in 2002 and later earned both a law degree and a master of business administration from Boston College. He has also completed the Executive Education Program certificate at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
