Robert C. (“Bob”) Gross has served in the forefront of organizational leadership, both in business and in government for over three decades. He now advises organizations in the areas of government affairs and policy, corporate governance, strategy, and risk. He has served as chief executive officer for private corporations and public agencies, as member and chairman of numerous for-profit and nonprofit boards, as public policy and commercial mediator, as executive consultant and adviser, as commercial attorney, and as educator.

Gross is the former president and executive board chair of First Interstate Bank of Utah, where he also previously served as general counsel and head of retail banking. He was the founding executive director of Utah’s Department of Workforce Services, where he led a consolidation of six state agencies into an innovative and streamlined one-stop agency, thereby gaining national recognition. Later, at the request of the White House, he served for six months in Baghdad, Iraq, as a senior advisor to the Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

Gross has testified on numerous occasions before Congressional and state legislative committees, subcommittees, and regulatory agencies and facilitated/mediated numerous senior-level regional, national, and international matters. He is also a former adjunct professor at Westminster College’s Gore School of Business, where he taught corporate governance and conflict/dispute resolution and has taught organizational leadership, strategy and risk, business and financial services law, and negotiating.

Gross currently serves as president of the NACD Utah Chapter and is a five-year NACD Leadership Fellow. He has served on and chaired numerous for-profit and nonprofit boards of directors, including as a director of Med One Group, TAB Bank Holding Company (and serves as Audit Committee chair), and the Employers Services Assurance Corporation, and as chair of the Utah State University College of Humanities and Social Sciences Advisory Board

Gross Associates LLC, Gross partners with boards, CEOs, CFOs, and top corporate management teams to provide in-depth consultation to assess, design, and implement all aspects of corporate governance for maximum effectiveness and shareholder return. His consultation is specifically tailored to the needs and issues facing a company, its directors, and executives, such as defining or redefining corporate missions and strategic goals, identifying and balancing risks and rewards, assisting with the composition, design, and recruitment of directors, guiding the dynamics between the executive suite and the boardroom, and merging or implementing new management teams. Gross is also the principal and founder of Robert C. Gross Investments LLC, a private commercial real estate investment and mortgage brokerage firm. The firm serves commercial real estate investors with both equity and debt financing and is an investor/owner in selected commercial real estate projects.

Gross has been a keynote speaker for corporate employee groups and business associations on a variety of topics, such as corporate governance, financial services, dispute prevention/management/resolution, organizational leadership, individual leadership development, and enterprise risk management.
