Sharon Feng

Director

Dr. Sharon Feng was recently the director of science and technology at PPG Industries (retired), the largest coating and materials manufacturer in the world, headquartered in Pittsburgh. In her role with PPG, she led the global research and development (R&D) center, the global analytical sciences function, and the S&T digital transformation initiative.

Since 2009, she has been a member of the board of directors for Koppers Holding LLC, a global leader in carbon materials, and she has served as the chair of the safety, health, and environmental committee as well as a member of the nominating and corporate governance and the management development and compensation committees.

Before joining PPG, Feng had more than 20 years of experience in leadership roles in both industry and academia in the areas of R&D; market and business development; environment, health, and safety; and supply chain management.

Feng had also actively engaged in leadership roles in various trade organizations such as the science and technology committee at the American Coatings Association and the science and technology policy committee of the American Chemistry Council. In addition, she is a member of the science and engineering advisory committee for the ARCS Foundation, a national nonprofit organization aimed at advocating, promoting, and supporting graduate studies in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
