Jim Kane

Director

James Kane was most recently chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Pittsburgh Corning (PC), responsible for the strategic direction and operating results of Pittsburgh Corning Corporation (PCC) and Pittsburgh Corning Europe (PCE). During his tenure as CEO, he oversaw a significant reinvention of PC worldwide. Among his achievements, Kane led the PCC's emergence from asbestos-related Chapter 11 after 16 years; championed PC's successful expansion into China; oversaw $100 million of new capital investment in operations and R&D; realigned the PCC and PCE organizations to operate as a global enterprise with common values and a single business culture; and sharpened the companies' focus on cellular glass material technology and systems. These initiatives resulted in the creation of $1 billion of shareholder value, culminating in the successful sale of PC to Owens Corning in June 2017.

Prior to joining PC, Kane served as vice president of Business Development with HNI Corporation (NYSE: HNI), responsible for creating new business platforms to drive profitable growth. Notably, he led HNI's successful expansion into the education market. Previously, he was vice president/general manager of several HNI business units, each with P&L responsibility in excess of $100 million. He began his career with Corning Inc., coincidentally one of the founding shareholders of PC.

Kane holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He has completed postgraduate coursework in Finance and Strategic Planning at The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. In addition to being an NACD Three Rivers Chapter Board member, he is a director of Girl's Hope of Pittsburgh Inc. and a past director of the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera.

Kane and his wife, Debbie, are parents to two grown children. They reside in the Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania area.
