Tom Petro is Managing Partner of 1867 Capital Partners, a venture investor in early-stage life sciences, Fintech and tech-enabled business services. Previously, Tom led the turnarounds as CEO of two publicly-trade banks and led a NASDAQ IPO. He also co-founded two private companies. Tom has extensive boardroom experience in public, private and venture-backed companies, where he has been an invaluable partner to the C-suite on leadership, strategy, risk management and execution issues. He has earned high marks from fellow directors for his leadership as board chair, and has chaired and served on a wide variety of committees including Audit, Compensation, Risk Management, Finance, and Executive and CEO Search committees. His broad financial and public company CEO experience qualifies Tom as a Sarbanes-Oxley SEC financial expert. He has earned the CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight from the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University for board directors and is NACD Directorship certified. He currently serves as a director of Univest Financial Corporation where he chairs the Risk Management Committee , and serves on a number of private and venture-backed company boards.
