A managing director of The Mercadien Group and principal of Mercadien, P.C., CPAs, Sherise Ritter is an integral member of the firm’s Outsourced CFO & Accounting Services Group. She works with private companies across various industries, nonprofits, healthcare organizations and professional service firms as a trusted advisor to help them with strategic planning, process efficiency and improvement studies, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, she has extensive experience working as an outsourced CFO, where she takes the lead on financial projects for her clients, prepares budgets and financial projections, and helps them think critically through financial issues, so they can focus on what’s important – growing their business.

Sherise also specializes in business planning and consulting in the areas of cash flow management, accounting systems design, and board governance training. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Sherise led the firm’s COVID Consulting Services Group, assisting with the application and forgiveness of PPP loans and other relief funding, risk assessment and management, cost allocation plan development, and pandemic response budget review and implementation. 

In addition to her work in the Outsourced CFO & Accounting Services Group, Sherise serves as a member (and former Co-Chair) of the firm’s Nonprofit & Human Services Group. The Group works with trade associations, community organizations and interested parties, and provides educational seminars, webinars and newsletters focused on the nonprofit industry to clients and friends of the firm. Sherise has extensive audit and attest experience from years of auditing nonprofit organizations, government entities, and colleges and universities. She works regularly with clients that receive funding from the State of New Jersey Depts. of Human Services, Children and Families, and Education and has robust knowledge of their rules and regulations. She also has extensive tax planning and preparation experience for individuals, for-profit businesses and exempt organizations, making her a well-rounded and valuable resource to her clients.
