Chip Johnson serves on Expand Energy Corp.’s board of directors, having previously served as a member of Southwestern Energy Co.’s board of directors since 2020. He has 40 years of onshore exploration and production experience. After 15 years at Shell Oil Co., Johnson founded Carrizo Oil & Gas (Nasdaq: CRZO) in 1993 and served as president and CEO until its merger with Callon Petroleum (NYSE: CPE) in 2019. From 2019 to 2022, he served on the board of Callon Petroleum Co. Additionally, Johnson has served on the boards of Basic Energy Services and Pinnacle Gas Resources.

Johnson earned a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado and is a Registered Petroleum Engineer.
