Richard Entrup is a global technology leader with significant experience leading technology operations, digital transformation and innovation, digital marketing, cybersecurity, and product development. Entrup has led global technology and digital transformation programs at many prominent global brands including Verizon, Christie’s, the Disney | ABC Television Group, Time Warner, The Museum of Modern Art, Viacom, and Tiffany & Co. He also served as chief information officer (CIO)/chief data officer and chief information security officer at several health care companies and an international law firm, with documented success aligning technology investments to strategic business objectives. Prior to his current role as a senior advisor of enterprise innovation at KPMG US, focused on Web3, the metaverse, and GenAI within the Enterprise Innovation Group, Entrup was a managing director of 5G and edge innovation at Verizon Business Group, where he was focused on helping enterprise clients explore the art of the possible to fully leverage 5G, edge computing, and emerging technology in support of digital transformation and innovation. Prior to Verizon, Entrup was the global CIO at Christie’s, where he visioned and executed a major digital transformation program that included many art-tech firsts, such as the first blockchain-based auction, an augmented reality virtual hang app, predictive analytics and computer vision apps using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, and online mobile bidding during a live auction. In 2018, he helped launched the inaugural Christie’s Art+Tech Summit, which was focused on blockchain and where non-fungible tokens (NFTs) were first introduced to the traditional art world. Prior to Christie’s, Entrup managed media technology at the Disney | ABC Television Group, which included all broadcasting, ad sales, and traffic systems as well as AI-driven projects in support of targeted marketing for both linear and digital/ over-the-top (streaming) TV. Entrup is also a startup mentor for the leAD sports and health tech accelerator at Lake Nona, and a strategic advisor to various early-stage startups focused on generative AI, Web3, blockchain, the metaverse, online art and NFT platforms, visual AI search, and quantum resistant cybersecurity. Entrup is also a trusted advisor to the venture capital community and is a CIO advisory board member at Greylock Partners, Mayfield Fund, Lightspeed Venture Partners, HMG Strategy, and Landmark Ventures.
