Rebecca Schechter is a dynamic and results-driven P&L leader with a track record of profitably growing and transforming businesses in group benefits, retirement and healthcare. In addition to being a CEO/President, Rebecca is a corporate director for IA Financial Group as well as an advisor for a global venture health-tech fund.

Rebecca brings broad financial services and health services insight, having successfully led large organizations therein. Rebecca’s leadership spans operational and strategic as well as client facing through risk management capabilities. Rebecca combines an entrepreneurial approach leveraging technology, analytics and artificial intelligence with her passion for optimizing businesses and launching disruptive innovation. Lastly, Rebecca has M&A (divestiture, post merger integration) and international experience.

Rebecca brings over 30 years of experience in corporate leadership roles. She most recently was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Dragon Ambient eXperience (DAX) at Nuance Communications, a Microsoft Company, a business focused on transforming the provider-patient experience for improved total health outcomes by hyper scaling Gen AI solutions.

Prior to Microsoft, Ms. Schechter served as Chief Executive Officer of Optum Behavioral Health, where she drove transformation across coverage, care delivery and digital capabilities for nearly 50 million members. Before that she served as Executive Vice President, Commercial Insurance and President of Liberty Mutual Benefits where she led a division focused on group, individual life & annuities and voluntary benefits. This division achieved market-leading results and valuation in an accelerated divestiture. Before joining Liberty Mutual, Ms. Schechter worked for State Street Corporation as Senior Vice President, Asset Servicing for corporations, nonprofits and mid-market employers. She also held executive roles as Chief Risk Officer, Asset Servicing and Senior Managing Director, Electronic Trading.

Earlier in her career, Rebecca gained deep global experience during her time at McKinsey & Company, Thomson Reuters and AC Nielsen where she worked and lived across Europe, Asia, and North America. This includes strong multilingual skills.

Rebecca serves on the board of IA Financial (IAG on Toronto Stock Exchange), and she is a member of the Risk, Governance and Ethics Committee. She is also a Venture Fund Partner for Nina Capital, a global Health Tech fund. 

While at Liberty Mutual, she served on the Liberty Life Assurance Board to enhance Investments and business-line partnership, while actively assessing capital allocation and improving transparency of the benefits unit performance.

Rebecca is an executive advisor for Private Equity with TPG and Bertelsmann Digital Health.

She is passionate about improving life outcomes for all: she serves on Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health Executive Council, the MIT Sloan School of Management Health System Initiative Advisory Council, as well as on a nonprofit board at Jumpstart.

In addition, she is deeply committed to developing high performance, diverse leadership teams. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum Massachusetts and of The Boston Club’s Executive Advisory Committee (focused on Women leaders).

Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in International Business from McGill University and a Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
