

Ranga Ramanujam

Dr. Ramanujam is the Richard M. and Betty Ruth Miller Professor of Management and Healthcare Policy at the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University. He studies the organizational causes and consequences of operational failures in high-risk work settings. His work has appeared in various journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Medical Care, and Safety Science. As the co-editor of Stanford University Press book series on High Reliability and Crisis Management, he co-edited the volume Organizing for Reliability: A Guide for Research and Practice (2018). He previously served on the editorial boards of Organization Science and the Journal of Organizational Behavior. He has consulted for several organizations including HCA, the Pittsburgh Regional Healthcare Initiative, the Pacific Gas & Electric Company, Philips, and Underwriters Laboratories. He received his PhD in Organizational Behavior and Theory from Carnegie Mellon University.
