Mary Dent

Managing Director, Klaros Group; Board Director, Banking Circle US, Woodruff Sawyer

Mary Dent is a partner and general counsel with Klaros Group, an advisory and investment firm focused on the future of financial services. Dent also serves on two corporate boards —Banking Circle US, a provider of payments and banking services, and Woodruff Sawyer, one of the country’s largest independently owned insurance brokers—as well as several nonprofit boards. In addition, she provides executive coaching services.

Dent has spent more than 30 years leading companies in the financial services and technology sectors, ranging from early-stage startups to large, publicly traded global enterprises based in the United States and Europe.

Prior to her current roles, Dent served on the boards of Vestwell Holdings, Green Dot / Green Dot Bank, Aspiration Financial, and SeedFi and in executive roles including CEO, general counsel, global chief operating officer, and vice president of public policy for companies including Green Dot Bank, SVB Financial Group / Silicon Valley Bank, New Skies Satellites, and Insikt. Dent has been responsible for a variety of functions including legal, compliance, enterprise risk management, research and development, tax, and internal audit.

In addition to her private-sector work, Dent served as counsel on the Senate judiciary and labor committees.

Dent holds a bachelor of arts in economics from UCLA. and a law degree from Stanford Law School.
