Karen Daniel

Director

Karen Daniel is a retired executive director, chief financial officer (CFO), and president of the Global Finance & Technology Solutions division for Black & Veatch (B&V), a global leader in providing engineering, consulting, and construction services for power, oil and gas, water, and telecommunication sectors. As CFO, Daniel was responsible for leading the company’s global financial operations and information technology (IT) organization including systems, technology development, and strategic alliances. She also sponsored the design and delivery of the signature Advanced Executive Business Acumen (aEBA) program for senior leaders across the globe. As member of the executive committee for B&V, Daniel played an integral role in strategic direction, operational effectiveness, talent development, and global culture.

Prior to joining B&V, Daniel was senior audit manager for the public accounting firm of KPMG. During her 11 years, she served the governmental, manufacturing, banking, and not-for-profit industries.

Daniel is an integral part of the Kansas City community. In 2020, Daniel was awarded the Athena Award for professional achievement and community services by the Greater KC Chamber of Commerce. She has served on the boards of the Greater KC Chamber, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Women’s Employment Network, and Northwest Missouri State University Foundation. Daniel currently sits on the boards of Snap-On Incorporated, Commerce Bancshares, and on the Board of Trustees of the Kauffman Foundation.

Daniel has a Master of Science in accounting from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Northwest Missouri State University. She also is a certified public accountant with the state of Missouri.
