About Julia Klein is an independent Board Director and leader in the distribution industry. With expertise in strategy, governance, mergers and acquisitions, technology and supply chain solutions, and the residential and commercial construction industries, Ms. Klein led C.H. Briggs for over 30 years. The Company was one of the nation’s largest independently owned distributors of specialty building materials. Customers include manufacturers, architects and designers of specialty interior products. Ms. Klein has successfully integrated 7 acquisitions expanding the C.H. Briggs footprint throughout the Northeast, Middle Atlantic and Southeast. Strategic use of new technology established the company’s reputation as an innovator and Ms. Klein’s reputation as a thought leader in the industry. Ms. Klein is a member of the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia; Eastern States Group, a Trustee at The College of Wooster, and the Editorial Advisory Board of Modern Distribution Management. She chaired Board of the Berks County Community Foundation and Philadelphia Forum of Executive Women Foundation. She holds a gubernatorial appointment to the Pennsylavania Early Learning Investment Commission and co-chairs the Berks Early Learning Coalition. She previously served on the Boards of Reading Health System, National Association of Wholesalers Institute, Hedwin Corporation, Quaker Maid Meats and Arbill Safety. Ms. Klein was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards© in Greater Philadelphia and was honored with the Junior Achievement Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame Award, the Athena Award, as a Distinguished Girl Scout Alumna by the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, and the Voices for Change award from Safe Berks. She also received the SmartCEO magazine Brava Award and Best Managed Companies in Philadelphia.
