

Jonathan Isaacson

Jonathan G. Isaacson is the Executive Chair of The Gem Group, a privately held, multiple award-winning supplier of high-quality bags, business accessories, electronics, stationery, and gifts to the Promotional Products market. The company, going to market under the trade name Gemline, has been recognized as one of the ten largest companies in the industry and, in 2021, was named Supplier of the Year by Counselor magazine. Gemline has its primary operation in Lawrence, Massachusetts, where they are one of the largest employers, a technical facility in Shenzhen, China, and offices in Vietnam and India. In 2022, Gemline received the Next Century award from the Associated Industries of Massachusetts for contributions to the economic well-being of Massachusetts.
Mr. Isaacson also currently serves on The Dean’s Advisory Board at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, the Advisory Board of the Department of Industrial and Operational Engineering at the University of Michigan School of Engineering, the Global Council at Junior Achievement, the Executive Committee of the Lawrence Partnership, and the Emergency Medicine Advisory Board at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital.
Mr. Isaacson has served on the Board of the Young Presidents’ Organization of New England as Day chair, Membership Chair, Education Chair, and Chapter Chair. Among other roles, he has also served on the Parent Leadership Council at Harvey Mudd College, the Advisory Board of pet product distributor PetEdge, the Board of Trustees of the Lawrence General Hospital, where he chaired several committees, and the PPAI Product Responsibility Action Group. In 2008, he was named The Counselor Magazine’s International Person of the Year, and in 2021 was recognized as The Counselor Magazine’s Person of the Year. In 2022, he received the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center’s highest award, the Making a Difference Award, for exceptional service to the community, and in 2025, he was inducted into the Promotional Products Association’s Hall of Fame.
Mr. Isaacson lives in Lexington with his wife Shelley and two dogs and has three grown children.
