John Bishop

John Bishop is the president and CEO of Pendleton Woolen Mills Inc., a lifestyle brand with roots in Oregon going back to 1863. Company products are distributed to select stores in the United States, Canada, Japan, Western Europe, South Korea, and Australia, including 33 Pendleton-operated stores and its website www.pendleton-usa.com. Pendleton operates a woolen mill in Washington state and at its original site in Pendleton, Oregon. Pendleton is a family-owned business with approximately 750 employees. Bishop has been in his present position since Jan. 1, 2017. His previous responsibilities included mill sales, the home catalog, operations, and finance. He joined, and later managed, Pendleton’s New Hampshire–based Dorr Woolen Co. textile mill division in 1982. Bishop began his career in the mortgage banking industry after earning a degree in economics from Claremont McKenna College. Bishop served on the board of the Pacific Northwest College of Art and earlier chaired the board of the Museum of Contemporary Craft.
