Dr. Joanna Dodd Massey is a public company Board Director who specializes in commerciality, turnaround, and growth. She helps companies attract long-term investors and expand market share by advising them on corporate governance, managing change, and navigating risk. She is a former Fortune 500 C-suite executive experienced in change management, M&A integration, crisis communications, and governance. In her board roles for public and private companies, Dr. Massey has served as Chairman of the Board, Lead Independent Director, Chair of Nominations & Governance, Chair of Compensation, and a member of both the Audit and M&A Committees. Her current Board roles include Lead Independent Director for KULR Technology Group (NYSE:KULR), Chairman of the Board for TessPay (private), and Independent Director on the Board of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (private). She is also on the Advisory Board of Thumzup Media Corporation (OTC:TZUP) and 8B Education Investments, a fintech startup.
Dr. Massey has a PhD in psychology, an MBA, and 30 years of experience advising Chairmen and CEOs during major crises, whistleblower complaints, public-facing lawsuits, and M&A transactions. As a corporate communications executive, Dr. Massey managed integration during major M&A transactions at Lionsgate, CBS, and Discovery; corporate turnaround as Condé Nast pivoted from print to video; and crisis communications with consumers, employees, investors, regulators, and politicians. She is based in the United States and has international experience working with partners in Europe, the UK, China and India.
She is a frequent keynote speaker for global companies, such as Uber, Capital One, LVMH and NBCUniversal. Dr. Massey helps employees navigate change and conflict so they are more effective at their jobs. She is the author of two books.
