Jeffrey Saviano

Principal, EY; Emerging Technology Strategy & Governance Leader; Harvard University Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Eth

Jeff is a Partner (Principal) with EY Consulting and leads EY’s Emerging Technology Strategy & Governance practice. Saviano is also the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Leader with the EY Center for Board Matters. He advises corporate boards, C-Suite executives, and senior government officials on the risks, opportunities, and policy governance implications emanating from innovative technology and data systems. He also began an academic appointment with the Edmond & Lily Safra Center for Ethics at Harvard University in 2023.

He is a founding member of The Prosperity Collaborative, a multi-stakeholder initiative dedicated to helping countries create better systems through innovative technology as digital public goods. And, in 2018, Saviano launched the EY global Advanced Technology Cambridge Lab, which includes a research collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Saviano has served as a New America Senior Fellow with the Digital Impact and Governance Initiative (DIGI) to study the development and governance of digital public infrastructure. In 2021 he was appointed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo to the Trade Finance Advisory Council, where he advised in the identification of effective ways to expand access to trade finance for U.S. exporters and their foreign buyers, with an emphasis on new fintech investments to fuel economic growth.

Saviano received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Iona University, a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, and an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law. He has published articles on policy and practice, advanced technologies, innovation theory and application, and innovative technology strategy, policy, and governance. He is the host of the Better Innovation podcast, featuring interviews with technology and innovation thought leaders.
