Ed Cannizzaro is a global financial executive and Fortune 200 board director who develops dynamic strategies that deliver quality outcomes and bottom-line results. Ed identifies and implements scalable process improvements needed to affect immediate change as well as ensure future success. Leveraging his business acumen and risk management expertise, Ed combines practical problem solving with a solutions-focused approach to help businesses achieve their goals. Over the course of his career, Ed has advised clients in various stages of development in a wide range of industries including ecommerce, fintech, semiconductors, manufacturing, retail, biotechnology, and real estate. Ed previously served as the Global Head of Quality, Risk & Regulatory for KPMG International (revenues $35B) and was a member of the firm’s Global Management Team with worldwide responsibility for the firm’s system of quality controls, risk management, and ethics and compliance programs. He directed the design and implementation of policies, processes, and controls that utilized enabling technologies to ensure the services and solutions—delivered by 235,000 people in 145 countries—met quality, regulatory, and professional standards. Ed also served as the National Managing Partner for Risk Management for KPMG US (35,000 people and $10B in revenue). He completed concurrent terms on the Board of Directors of KPMG Americas and KPMG US during this time, providing sound oversight and governance, including participating in C-level executive recruitment. Earlier in his career, Ed served as the Western Area Managing Partner Audit for KPMG US managing the group’s P&L and overseeing a team of 2,000 professionals in 12 locations. He has served as the global lead partner for several multinational public company audit engagements and a firm-designated SEC Reviewing Partner. He also served two rotational assignments in KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice, developing his technical accounting and disclosure expertise, and providing risk management support to KPMG’s Latin America and Caribbean practices.
