Deborah Jackson
President Emerita of Cambridge College
Deborah C. Jackson, is President Emerita of Cambridge College where she served as President from 2011 - 2023.
Prior to that, Ms. Jackson served as Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross of Eastern Massachusetts; Vice President of the Boston Foundation, and Senior Vice President of Boston Children’s Hospital. Ms. Jackson began her career as a policy analyst and consultant with Abt Associates, one of the country’s leading policy research and consulting firms where she served as the Deputy Director for Health Care and Income Security.
Ms. Jackson is currently the Lead Director of Eastern Bank and serves on the on the board of the Eastern Bank Foundation. Throughout her career, Ms. Jackson has served on numerous commissions, task forces and boards. In the health care sector, Ms. Jackson served on the board of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care; as a Commissioner on the Massachusetts Group Health Insurance Commission; and Co-Chair of the Mayor’s Task Force to Eliminate Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Care.
Ms. Jackson has also served on the boards of the International Women’s Forum, Massachusetts Chapter; the American Student Assistance Corporation, the nation's first student loan guarantor agency; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts; the board of the New England Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors; the Board of Directors of the Boston Stock Exchange and others.
She has been the recipient of numerous awards including being recognized in numerous years as one of Boston’s 100 most influential leaders by Boston Magazine and the Boston Business Journal, and receiving the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award.
