Antoinette (Tonie) Leatherberry

Antoinette (Tonie) Leatherberry is an advisor to many of the world’s largest companies in the technology, retail and manufacturing industries. For more than three decades, Tonie has personally advised Fortune 100 companies and has been a strategic advisor to CEOs and C-suite executives for three of the five largest US companies. Following an early career as a mechanical engineer in the technology sector, Tonie became a management consultant in the 1990’s going on to become one of Deloitte’s most sought-after global experts in information technology strategy and implementation, data analytics, IT due diligence and post-merger integration. Tonie’s global client work included multiple long-term global IT transformation and implementation assignments in Europe and Asia. Tonie became the Managing Principal of Deloitte’s $300 million northeast regional data analytics practice where she led a team of over 2,000 professionals. Tonie is the Immediate Past Chair of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC). As recent Chair of the ELC, Tonie created the Chairman’s Council of Academic Achievement to address achievement gaps for Black students in America’s educational systems. Tonie served as the President of the Deloitte Foundation, the mission of which is to drive initiatives to develop future leaders through education. In this role she has overseen the distribution of over $50M in grants to 400+ schools. Most recently, Tonie serves on the boards of Zoetis Inc. , American Family Insurance Company and Direct Digital Holdings. In addition, she serves on the Board of Trustees for Widener University and Boston University. Tonie has authored numerous articles and whitepapers for Deloitte, NACD Directorship, Directors and Boards, and many other publications including co-authoring Technology and the Boardroom: The CIO’s Guide to Engaging the Board published by Harvard Law School’s Forum on Corporate Governance (2019). Tonie’s achievements have been widely recognized including: Director & Boards’ Directors to Watch 2021; Consulting Magazine’s Top 25 Consultants; NACD Directorship 100; Black Enterprise’s Most Powerful Women in Business; and the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She has an MBA in Operations from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Science – Mechanical Engineering from Boston University. An advocate of lifelong learning, Tonie is a doctoral candidate in higher education at Widener University.
