Hilda Pinnix-Ragland is a corporate affairs and business executive acknowledged for building best-in-class organizations that consistently achieve aggressive revenue and profit objectives. She is a dedicated board member to industry, educational, and community organizations, bringing new strategies and processes to enhance effectiveness. Her broad background includes profit-and-loss management, strategic planning, economic development, communications, auditing, accounting, treasury, mergers-and-acquisitions integration, customer service, and operations. During her career, she combined operating success leading the largest operations with financial, employee, and customer excellence while collaborating to build alignment with government, regulatory, and key stakeholders.

Pinnix-Ragland has served in operating roles with Progress Energy, including vice president of the northern region, managing distribution of electric service for almost a million customers and community relations, and as vice president of energy delivery services, leading controller-all financial oversight; environmental compliance and services; transmission and distribution services; commercial, industrial and governmental account management; and support services. In both roles, she achieved top-quartile performance in safety, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement. She had been recruited to join the energy industry after starting her career at Colgate-Palmolive, followed by Arthur Andersen.

Pinnix-Ragland holds a bachelor of science in accounting from North Carolina A&T State University and a master of business administration from Duke University Fuqua School of Business. She also completed graduate studies in taxation from St. John’s University and the Executive Education program from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

Pinnix-Ragland is a member of the Executive Leadership Council and NACD. In 2017, she coauthored the book The Energy Within Us. Most recently, Pinnix-Ragland became NACD Directorship Certified.
