Bonnie Hancock

Bonnie Hancock is a professor of practice teaching graduate courses in the Poole College of Management at North Carolina State University (NCSU) where she has also served as executive director of the Enterprise Risk Management Initiative. She currently serves on the AgCarolina Farm Credit ACA board and on the North Carolina Coastal Pines Girl Scout Council board, where she has chaired the audit committee and currently serves as its board chair. She has previously served on public and private company boards, participating in compensation and governance committees and chairing risk, credit, and audit committees.

Bonnie came to NCSU from Progress Energy, a Fortune 250 energy company, where she led the merger of Carolina Power & Light Company and Florida Progress and was president of Progress Fuels, an unregulated subsidiary of Progress Energy with over $1 billion in assets. Her career with Progress also included the following executive positions: senior vice president, finance and information technology; vice president, strategic planning; vice president, accounting and controller; and tax manager. Before joining Progress, she held management positions at Potomac Electric Power Co. in Washington and in public accounting.

Bonnie holds a business administration degree from the College of William and Mary and a master of science in taxation from Georgetown University. She has also completed an executive management program at Duke University. She has received a Sells Award, a national recognition for performance on the CPA examination.
