Michelle Hong

Michelle Hong is a founding partner and cohead of the Philadelphia office of Northern Trust. She brings more than 20 years of experience in financial and legal services for business owners, corporate executives, endowed nonprofit organizations, and multigenerational families. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Hong was a senior vice president in private banking at Brown Brothers Harriman.

Hong began her career in private legal practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York City and at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Philadelphia. She earned her juris doctor (doctor of law) from Harvard Law School and her bachelor of arts from Duke University with a dual major in public policy studies and English. She was also the recipient of a Lord Rothermere scholarship to study at the University of Oxford in England.

Hong's commitment to the Philadelphia community is evident in her extensive history of nonprofit board service. She currently serves on the boards of Main Line Health, the Committee of Seventy, WHYY, and the Center City District Foundation. Previously, she served on boards and committees for Philabundance, Vision 2020 (Drexel University), the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and Pig Iron Theatre Company, among others. She is a member of the Forum of Executive Women.

Hong lives in the historic Queen Village neighborhood of Philadelphia with her husband and their three daughters.
