Adrienne Kirby

Director

Adrienne Kirby is the former executive chairman and CEO of Cooper University Health Care. She is a healthcare industry leader with diverse experience as a board member, CEO, and COO who has 40 years of strategic and operational experience in large health systems, physician organizations, insurance plans, and outpatient services.

Previously, she served on the boards of MedCPU (a healthcare IT company), New Jersey Hospital Association, and Cooper University Health Care, among others. She is currently an independent board director for Trellis Rx, MedVet, Greenway Health, and SILA REIT. She also chairs the Advisory Board of healthPrecision, a healthcare decision support company.

Previous to Cooper University Health Care, Kirby served as president of MedStar Franklin Square Hospital Center. She also held a series of increasingly responsible roles with Virtua Health, the largest health system in Southern New Jersey, beginning as vice president Programs of Excellence and ultimately being promoted to chief operating officer for the organization's flagship hospital and systemwide outpatient services and programs of excellence. Earlier in her career, while she was at the University of Pennsylvania, Kirby served as a leader for a multi-year, multi-organizational international project to improve the health of women and children in Ukraine.

She received her certification as a Master Professional Director from the American College of Corporate Directors and is a member of NACD and C200 and the C200 Corporate Board Forum. She holds a certificate from Harvard University Women on Boards program.

Kirby holds a PhD and an MSN from the University of Pennsylvania and as a BSN from Rutgers University. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is the recipient of numerous professional and community service awards. She has been named by the Philadelphia Business Journal several times as a Most Admired CEO, Power 100, and a Woman of Distinction.
