Aspiring Director Program in Las Vegas

This program will provide valuable information and tips to those aspiring to join a corporate board of directors, and for experienced directors, to maximize their impact in the boardroom and leverage their experience to join additional boards.

We will focus on pathways to the boardroom through the personal experiences of experienced and newer board directors. One session will feature a moderated fireside chat conversation with an experienced director.  The second session will feature a moderated panel including an experienced and newer director, both of whom will discuss their pathways to the boardroom, and the role and responsibilities of corporate directors.

The program will identify key development experiences and characteristics needed to be a successful board candidate and outline the board search process including the mutual due diligence required to ensure a good board match. The panelists will offer their practical advice based on their personal experiences as company directors and career executives, share their own personal journeys to board service. Finally, we will share information about NACD education programs for aspiring and experienced directors and related resources available to NACD members in NACD’s library.
