Tom Opladen
Director
Thomas J. Opladen has served on five corporate boards of both public and private companies since 1977. He has served as chairman of the board of a public company; chairman of the Audit Committee, including qualifying as a financial expert; chairman of the Finance Committee; chairman of the Compensation Committee; and member of the Executive Committee of these companies. He also serves on the Board of the New York Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and is chairman of its Membership Committee. He is an NACD-certified Governance Fellow.
Opladen worked in the corporate finance area of investment banking from 1973 until 1988, including serving as director of Corporate Finance and director of Private Placements for Bank of America and in the Corporate Finance Department of Shearson Loeb Rhoades. He was interim CEO as well as chairman of the board of Graham-Field Health Products Inc., a distressed company in Chapter 11 proceedings. As the longest serving director of Parsons Brinckerhoff, a worldwide engineering and construction management company, he worked with management to profitably grow the company from slightly over $100 million in revenue to almost $2.5 billion. He is currently executive chairman of Metal Morphing Technologies Inc.
Opladen has a BS from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard University, and he served as chief engineer and third in command of a destroyer in the U.S. Navy.
