NACD New Jersey Chapter Elects Chrissy Buteas, Brenda Ross-Dulan and Shane Sanders to Board of Directors

New Board Members Add Critical Experience and Expertise in Corporate Governance

November 17, 2023 – South River, New Jersey – The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) New Jersey Chapter, the advocate for the profession of directorship, today announced the election of three new directors, Chrissy Buteas, Brenda Ross-Dulan and Shane Sanders, to the chapter’s board of directors.

“Our three new directors add a diverse set of experience across nonprofit, private and public board roles and are highly regarded in the New Jersey business community as leaders and champions of corporate governance excellence,” said Trish Oelrich, chair of the board of NACD New Jersey.

“On behalf of the entire board, I’m pleased to welcome Chrissy, Brenda and Shane to the NACD New Jersey Chapter board of directors,” added Judy Reisdorf, chair of the nominating and governance committee. “Their leadership and board experience during normal course of business and in complex situations will be invaluable to our organization.”

Chrissy Buteas

Chrissy Buteas is an experienced leader in state and local legislative advocacy, coalition building and fundraising. Currently, she is the vice president of government affairs for Altice. Prior to joining Altice, Buteas was the chief government affairs officer at the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, president and CEO of the Home Care & Hospice Association of New Jersey and vice president of Capital Impact Group.

She serves on boards and councils for Middlesex College, Junior Achievement – North Jersey, the New Jersey Medical Assistance, Focus NJ, South Jersey Technology Park at Rowan University, The Jersey Shore Partnership, Thanexus, Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey and the New Jersey Council of County Colleges.

Buteas is highly regarded in the business community and has received numerous awards including the New Jersey Council of County Colleges Trustee Award, the Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey’s President’s Award, the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore’s Women of Distinction Award, a “Barrier Breaker” in NJ’s Best’s 2021 spring issue on New Jersey’s trailblazing women, on ROI Influencers’ Power List 2021 — Government Affairs, as a 20 Under 40 from South Jersey Business Magazine, among NJBIZ’s 50 Best Women in Business and others.

Brenda Ross-Dulan

Brenda Ross-Dulan is the founder and managing principal of The Ross Dulan Group, a boutique strategy consulting firm. She leverages more than 25 years of experience in the ever-changing financial services industry to help CEOs and executives across the U.S. solve their toughest business challenges.

Ross-Dulan serves on the board of directors of NJM Insurance Group and is a member of its investment and audit committees. Additionally, she is on the board of trustees of the National Community Investment Fund, a Chicago-based firm that invests in minority-owned banks across the nation.

Ross-Dulan has extensive experience in nonprofit board governance on both the east and west coasts. She became the first African American female to lead a majority chamber in the state of New Jersey when she was installed as the chair of the board of the Princeton Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce in January 2020. She led the board through the unprecedented pandemic and economic shutdown. During that time, she served on New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy’s Restart and Recovery Advisory Council. Her board service also includes the and Young Audiences, NJTV, the Greater Trenton Initiative and the Coopers Ferry Community Development Association. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and an adviser to the New Jersey Black Women’s Collective.

Ross-Dulan has been recognized as one of the most influential business owners and consultants in New Jersey by ROI-NJ. She has been ranked as one of the nation’s most powerful women in corporate America by Black Enterprise magazine and has received dozens of accolades as a leading executive.

Shane Sanders

Shane Sanders is a transformational and strategic finance executive with more than 30 years of corporate experience leading large initiatives across the enterprise, focused on influencing value creation. He has advised CEOs, chief financial officers, executive leaders and board members on various matters, including shareholder value creation, target setting, capital allocation and enterprise risk management and compliance. He drives change through financial expertise, business acumen and leadership skills to realize a future vision that stays ahead of market dynamics and employs a leadership style that is inspiring to others that attracts, retains, and develops highly talented and engaged individuals.

Sanders is an independent public board director for Danaher Corp. and serves on the audit committee. He also serves as the audit committee chair of Commvault, on the board of trustees of Oklahoma City University and as a board member for the Council for Economic Education, and he formerly served on board for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation. He is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, an organization of Black executives whose mission is to increase the number of successful Black executives worldwide by adding to their development, leadership and philanthropic endeavors; previously a member of the Governor’s Committee of Scholastic Achievement Mentorship Program; and was selected by Diversity MBA Magazine as a Top 100 Under 50 Executive Leader. Sanders is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and was drafted by the New York Mets.
