Chris Oddleifson

Christopher Oddleifson is an executive advisor to Independent Bank Corp. and Rockland Trust, having recently retired after 20 years as the CEO. Rockland Trust is a full-service commercial and retail bank with over 1,700 employees and serves more than 390,000 customers. Rockland Trust has $19.3 billion in assets, $5.8 billion in assets under management, and over 160 retail branches and other offices located in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Active in industry and community affairs, Oddleifson is a director of South Shore Health and South Shore Hospital, The New England Council, and the NACD New England Chapter. He serves on the finance, compensation, governance, and strategy committees of South Shore Health and the finance committee and land conservation committee of The Trustees of Reservations. He is the past chair of the Massachusetts Housing Partnership, South Shore Hospital, Cape Cod Community College, Massachusetts Bankers Association, and United Way of Greater Plymouth County campaign cabinet. Oddleifson has also served on the advisory council for the Boston Federal Reserve Bank community development institution and the Boy Scouts of America Old Colony Council's board of directors.

Previously, Oddleifson was the president of First Union Home Equity Bank, a national banking subsidiary of First Union Corp., and the executive vice president, responsible for consumer banking, for Signet Bank in Richmond, Virginia. He has also worked as a management consultant for Booz, Allen and Hamilton.

Oddleifson holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and a master of business administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
