About The Event
Recent events – global pandemic, talent dearth, and supply chain shortages - have pushed organizations’ risk analysis and planning to the forefront. With expanding new demands and critical scrutiny being placed on Boards, what is the Boards’ role?
This NACDNE program will explore how a Board ensures that its company has an effective process to identify risks and how it can prepare to implement new mitigation strategies. Building a Board culture that supports open dialogue is essential because planning and resilience are keys to success.
Looking forward, organizations must respond to the impacts of emergencies and long-term shifts. Management and the Board will need to align. While this is complex, it is also critical.
Join us as we discuss some of the top current risks that companies are facing and what discussions should be taking place at the Board level. We hope to answer the below questions and more during this program.
- How does a Board ensure that a company has implemented an effective process to identify risks and to identify the steps to prevent and/or mitigate their impact? Are there metrics and processes in place to execute on today’s expanded risk oversight responsibilities?
- What is the Board’s role in building a culture that supports both the identification of risks and ongoing strategies to mitigate that risk?
- How does a company understand its risk appetite and how does it change over time? What should be done to ensure alignment with the Board?
- Have best practices been adopted? Are there metrics or processes in place for review at the Board level?
- What are the top current risks that companies are facing? What is the company’s approach and does the discussion at the Board level change?
