Jill Marchant is executive vice president, chief legal officer, and corporate secretary at Hallmark.

In this role, Marchant serves as a corporate officer and member of the enterprise senior executive leadership team. As Hallmark’s chief legal officer, she is responsible for leading the team of attorneys and legal specialists who provide support and provide strategic legal and business advice to Hallmark’s portfolio businesses - Hallmark Global, Crayola, Hallmark Media, and Crown Center - and its corporate support functions, on a wide array of issues, including governance, financing, contracts, real estate, employment, litigation, intellectual property, real estate, and media production and distribution. Marchant also provides counsel and support to Hallmark’s board of directors.

Marchant leads corporate affairs functions, including government affairs, corporate giving, enterprise ethics and compliance, human resources, recruiting, and talent development support for the corporate team functions and the family’s trust company and philanthropic arms.

Marchant joined Hallmark in 2018. Previously, she served as senior vice president, general counsel of Farm Credit Mid-America, a $22 billion financial services cooperative, leading the legal and government affairs functions. Marchant was also previously general counsel for Texas Roadhouse, advising executives and the board of directors related to the company’s flagship restaurants and its growing brand portfolio. In addition, she has held senior legal leadership positions at DineEquity Inc., Applebee’s, and Honeywell.

Marchant holds a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, in English and her juris doctorate, cum laude, from Brigham Young University.

Marchant has served on the Kansas City Chamber’s Executive Women’s Leadership Council and the board of the Kansas City Zoo. She currently serves on the boards of the Kansas City Symphony, the Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission, the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, and the NACD Heartland Chapter.
