Director

Luis Marconi is an accomplished board director and Fortune 500 C-suite profit-and-loss (P&L) leader with over 35 years of experience in the consumer-packaged-goods food-and-beverage industry across the United States and Latin America.

Holding NACD Directorship Certification, Marconi currently serves as an independent board director of American Outdoor Brands (Nasdaq: AOUT), a leading provider of products and accessories for outdoor enthusiasts, and Oleificio Zucchi SPA, a leading manufacturer of olive oils in Italy. He also serves on the board of the James Beard Foundation, a nonprofit organization with a mission to celebrate, support, and elevate the people behind America's food culture.

Prior to these roles, he spent over 22 years with Hormel Foods, a $12 billion+ global branded food company with a presence in more than 75 countries worldwide. During his tenure at Hormel, Marconi grew from a sales and marketing manager to the leader of the $3.5 billion grocery-products division, the company's second largest. He held full P&L responsibility and provided overall leadership for the business. Marconi was responsible for developing the strategic rationale for mergers and acquisitions to the Hormel Foods board of directors. He led the successful acquisition and integration of several businesses, collectively valued at $4.7 billion, including Wholly Guacamole, Skippy peanut butter (acquired from Unilever), Justin's nut butters and confections, and Planters snack nuts (acquired from Kraft Heinz Co.).

Marconi was the founding president of MegaMex Foods, the $800 million joint venture between Hormel Foods and Herdez Del Fuerte Mexico. His brand-building expertise significantly contributed to the growth of Hormel's legacy brands like Spam, which achieved eight consecutive years of record sales. He further expanded the portfolio by establishing new business platforms like nut butters and snack nuts and managed the Hormel functional nutrition business units. Marconi also served on multiple boards within Hormel, including MegaMex Foods, Carapelli olive oils, and the Hormel Cargill joint venture in Central America. During his time in the international division of Hormel, Marconi built the Hormel food-service business in Mexico from the ground up and expanded the company's portfolio across retail and food-service channels throughout Latin America. Prior to joining Hormel Foods, Marconi held international marketing leadership roles at the Quaker Oats Co., including managing the flagship Quaker Oats brand in the Andean region.

Marconi holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Pontifical Xavierian University in Bogota, Colombia and a master of business administration from Icesi University in Cali, Colombia . He is also a graduate of the Executive MBA program at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.
