Lauren E. Smith is a managing director at Diversified Search, a top 10 executive search firm in the United States and the country's largest woman-owned firm, where leads board and executive searches. She has a track record of recruiting standout board members who bring both the skill sets and unique perspectives to add meaningful value in the boardroom, and she works with boards to take a fresh approach to defining diversity. Smith is also the president of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Florida Chapter and an NACD Board Leadership Fellow. She has published several articles on diversity in the boardroom. Earlier in her career, she had 12 years of experience leading marketing and strategy initiatives at two Fortune 50 companies: Westinghouse Electric Corporation and Motorola Inc.

Smith is a Board of Governors member of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and of the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship of Nova Southeastern University. She is an active member of Women Corporate Directors and Belizean Grove and is an Advisory Board member of Women Executive Leadership, where she spearheaded the first census that tallied the number of women on the boards of Florida’s top 150 public companies.

Smith has been quoted as an expert on executive and board recruiting in NACD Directorship, Entrepreneur magazine, American Way magazine, Miami Herald, and South Florida CEO magazine. She was named by South Florida Business Journal as one of the Most Influential Business Women in 2010. She has been a guest lecturer at Nova Southeastern University and a speaker for NACD.
