With extensive leadership experience in the financial services industry, Frances has a proven track record of growing businesses, significantly improving profitability, and entering and exiting markets on an international level. Within a highly regulated industry, she set strategy and dealt with regulators, clients, employees, and analysts around the world. For the past 10 years, Frances has also utilized her international, corporate governance, leadership, risk management, and wealth management experience on behalf of the boards she serves. She qualifies as an “audit committee financial expert”; has served on boards’ audit, nominating and corporate governance, investment, and strategic planning committees; and is currently chair of Camden Property Trust’s audit committee and Delaware Funds’ nominating and corporate governance committee.
Frances serves on the boards of Camden Property Trust, Delaware Funds, and Callon Petroleum. Camden is one of the largest publicly traded multifamily companies in the US structured as a real estate investment trust and was recently named by Fortune magazine for the 10th consecutive year as one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” in America. Delaware Funds is the mutual fund arm of Macquarie Investment Management of Macquarie Group Limited, a global investment banking and diversified financial services group headquartered in Sydney. Frances was asked by Callon a year ago to join the board upon completion of the acquisition of Carrizo Oil & Gas, where she had served as director since March 2018 and been a member of the board’s audit committee. Frances was one of three directors from Carrizo, alongside Carrizo’s CEO and board chair, to join the Callon board upon the completion of the acquisition. Callon is an independent oil and natural gas company.
Frances has led premier US and international wealth management organizations with global firms such as Bank of America, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, and Bankers Trust Company. She also served as chief executive officer of U.S. Trust Company and, more recently, Banco Itau International. Frances has been instrumental in the successful sale and integration of firms and businesses, such as the sale of U.S. Trust Company to Bank of America, where she led the integrated organization (U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management) as president. She also successfully executed the sale of the bank's non-target portfolio at Banco Itau International. At Citigroup, Frances was president of Latin America and Europe Private Banking, and she headed the international trust business for the private bank.
Frances, a US-born-and-raised, multilingual, and multicultural professional, holds an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA from University of Miami, where she served as interim dean of UM’s School of Business Administration. She is a member of International Women's Forum and an NACD Leadership Fellow. Fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French, Frances keeps current on board developments and regularly attends board and audit committee forums. She is involved in community and philanthropic endeavors and has served on non-for-profit boards for many years. Frances and her husband, Gene, have three adult children who live in New York City and Boston.
