John Mestepey

John Mestepey is the office managing director of the Miami office of Diversified Search. He, Lauren Smith, and a few others were instrumental in starting the NACD Florida Chapter many years ago, and Diversified Search has remained a Chapter Sponsor from the outset.

John has had many years' experience in executive search, having headed the Miami office of the executive search division of the management consulting firm A.T. Kearney, and since 2008, of Diversified Search. His practice focuses on C-suite-level searches across many industry sectors, including health care, higher education and nonprofits, consumer products, industrial, transportation and logistics, the electric power industry, hospitality and food service, financial services, boards of directors, and many others. His experience includes general management searches and all functional areas, with particular experience in chief executive, operating, financial, marketing, and legal officer searches.

John is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and was a commissioned officer in the United States Marine Corps and served as an infantry officer, receiving the Purple Heart, among other decorations. He has been active in the community, serving as a board member of the Orange Bowl Committee, the board of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Beacon Council, and Ransom Everglades School. He currently serves as a board member of Camillus House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to solving issues related to homelessness. John and his wife, Wendy, have three children and four grandchildren, all residents of Miami.
