Profile - Sara Spiering Sara Spiering Principal; Member, CEO & Board Practices Heidrick & Struggles Sara Spiering is a principal in Heidrick & Struggles’ Global CEO & Board of Directors Practice. She focuses on searches for nonexecutive directors, nonexecutive and executive chairs, and CEOs, and on CEO and board succession planning and corporate-governance consulting engagements. Spiering has completed some 200 nonexecutive director searches across all sectors, primarily focusing on Fortune 500 companies. She previously served as lead engagement manager and led the Board and Chief Executive Officers Practices’ internal professional development and mentoring initiatives. Spiering joined Heidrick in 2009, after previously working as an attorney with the law firm of DeWitt Ross & Stevens. Spiering is a member of the International Women’s Forum, served on the Ambassadors Board of the Chicago Children’s Choir, and was included in Fortune’s 2014 Most Powerful Women: Next Generation.

Profile - Daniel Wagner Daniel Wagner CEO Country Risk Solutions Daniel Wagner is the founder and CEO of Country Risk. He has three decades of experience assessing cross-border risk, is an authority on political risk insurance and analysis, and has worked for some of the world’s most respected and best-known companies, such as AIG, GE, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank Group. He has published six books – China Vision, AI Supremacy, Virtual Terror, Global Risk Agility and Decision-Making, Managing Country Risk, and Political Risk Insurance Guide – as well as more than 600 articles on current affairs and risk management. Daniel is a regular contributor to such publications as the South China Morning Post, Sunday Guardian, and The National Interest, among many others. He holds master’s degrees in International Relations from the University of Chicago and in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird).
Profile - Sonya Sepahban Sonya Sepahban Director Genomenon Inc., Cooper-Standard Holdings Inc.; Former SVP, General Dynamic Corp. Sonya F. Sepahban is a board member, tech investor, and entrepreneur. Sepahban is the cofounder of PropelWorks, whose initial product, JoinIN, allows start-ups to meet in small groups to leverage peer collaboration and mentorship. Sepahban’s career spans world-class high-tech organizations such as NASA and several major aerospace and technology companies. Most recently, she was senior vice president of engineering, development, and technology at General Dynamics Corp. Sepahban is an angel investor, and also serves on the five-member Investment Committee of the Michigan Angel Fund. She is a director of Cooper Standard, a leading global supplier in the automotive industry, and Genomenon Inc., a high-growth bioinformatics company.

As president of Prestige Economics, Schenker advises corporate boards, institutional investors, and central banks. As chair of The Futurist Institute, Schenker trains analysts, strategists, and executives to incorporate new and emerging technology risks and opportunities into their strategic planning. Schenker has written more than a dozen books, including Jobs for Robots (2017), The Promise of Blockchain (2018), and Quantum: Computing Nouveau (2018). He is also the editor of The Robot and Automation Almanac (2017, 2018) and a columnist for Bloomberg Opinion. He has recorded courses for LinkedIn on financial risk management as well as on audit and due diligence. Schenker is ranked one of the 100 most influential financial advisors in the world by Investopedia.
Profile - Shaara Roman Shaara Roman Founder and Managing Partner The Silverene Group Shaara Roman is founder and managing director of The Silverene Group. She counsels CEOs, chief human resource officers, and C-suite executives through pivotal organizational transitions, such as rapid growth, mergers, and acquisitions. Creating successful strategies on organizational design, values alignment in hir-ing and leadership, and how to eliminate toxic stressors in the workplace, she produces engaged and pro-ductive teams, and is a frequent speaker on the role of company culture in driving employee and business success. Prior to founding The Silverene Group, Roman held executive leadership positions in Fortune 500 companies, including Fannie Mae and Visa, as well as CGI and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Asso-ciation. Born in, Bombay, India, raised in Lagos, Nigeria, and educated in the United Kingdom, prior to pur-suing a career in the United States, Roman’s global upbringing provided the foundation for her distinctive expertise in crafting winning workplace strategies for multinational organizations.

Erin Essenmacher serves as the chief programming officer for the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), responsible for the content curation, strategy, and execution of more than 60 virtual and brick-and-mortar education programs and events each year. Essenmacher is also an award-winning writer, director, and producer with nearly 20 years of experience in media production. She has written, directed, and produced films for PBS, the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, the History Channel, and Court TV, and she produced and co-wrote the critically acclaimed independent documentary, MINE. Essenmacher currently serves on the board of EILEEN FISHER, Inc.

Profile - Larry Clinton Larry Clinton President and CEO Internet Security Alliance (ISA) Larry Clinton is president of the Internet Security Alliance (ISA). The ISA is a multi-sector trade association that focuses on thought leadership, policy advocacy, and developing best practices for cybersecurity. Clinton is on the board of the IT Sector Coordinating Council and serves on the Cybersecurity Advisory Board for the Center for Audit Quality. He has been a featured spokesman on cyber issues in virtually all major media outlets. He testifies often before Congress and has briefed NATO and the OAS. He is the principle author of the NACD Director’s Handbook on Cyber-Risk Oversight for corporate boards which PwC found has substantially improved corporate director’s management of cyber-risk since its publication. NACD named Clinton as one of the 100 most influential people in the field of corporate governance in 2015 and again in 2016.
