Susan Certoma is an executive leading next-generation businesses and developing innovative technology solutions for financial services and other industries for over 30 years. In her leadership roles, Certoma has been responsible for managing businesses’ profit and loss as well as global technology organizations. In her board and advisory roles, she has worked with CEOs in multiple industries focused on business value and transformation.

Certoma is currently a director of the Southwest Power Pool board and has held the role of board chair as well as chair of the finance committee. She also serves on the board of Union Savings Bank, including as chair of the risk committee and a member of the governance committee. Certoma is a member of NACD and a board director for the NACD Connecticut Chapter. In addition, she serves on strategic advisory boards for multiple start-ups and is involved in not-for-profit organizations. As the co-founder of Point2Point, she provides strategic advice in the areas of digital transformation, emerging technologies, technology strategy, and leadership to executives and board directors.

Previously, Certoma was president of Enterprise Engineering Inc. (EEI) with responsibility for the strategic consulting and software businesses. Prior to her role at EEI, she was president of the wealth and markets division at Broadridge. She also served as the global chief information officer for the corporate and investment bank at Wachovia before her position at Broadridge. Prior to this, she held senior leadership positions in technology and operations at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch.

In prior years, Certoma served on the board of Direct Edge stock exchange (ranked in the top four US exchanges; acquired by BATS Global Markets), the Connecticut Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Enterprise Data Management Council, and on the advisory board of Mediant Communications.

As a leader, she has chaired committees for women in technology, learning and development, career development, employee engagement, and talent management.

Certoma has also completed special study programs at Dartmouth College and Yale University along with executive education programs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of several women’s networks, including Extraordinary Women on Boards.

Certoma was recognized by Forbes as one of the top 25 Women in Technology. She was also a Gold Book Honoree by Wall Street & Technology, one of the Women Worth Watching by Profiles in Diversity Journal, and one of the Women in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) in Inviting Arkansas.

Certoma is a summa cum laude graduate of St. John’s University with a bachelor of science in management and economics and an master of business administration in finance.
