Gerry Mintz is a highly strategic business leader, advisor, and independent director. He helps technology-based information businesses develop and implement innovative product and market growth strategies, typically by leveraging new technologies, addressing new markets, and/or introducing disruptive business models. As an operating executive, Mintz has profitably grown global businesses ranging in size from $10 million to $600 million in both public and private equity portfolio companies. He has held all line management operating titles, including chairman and CEO. Today, as a consultant and independent director, he leverages his deep background in FinTech and the information industry, helping companies accelerate growth with bold, yet realistic, strategies. Mintz has considerable board experience with companies of all ownership structures and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD).

Mintz began his career as a systems engineer with a Toronto-based engineering consulting firm. He was recruited by Hewlett-Packard as a project leader, with responsibility for development and management of products in the Industrial Controls market, a forerunner of the Internet of Things. He gained startup experience when he was he was recruited as EVP of Sales & Marketing for EJV Partners LP, an information and software vendor delivering fixed income analytical tools. His subsequent line operating responsibilities included president, Executive Programs for Gartner Inc., executive vice president and global head of Enterprise Solutions for Reuters Inc., and two division president and CEO assignments with Thomson Financial Services. Mintz played a major role in their largest transaction at the time. He has also been CEO of two global PE-backed information and analytics businesses in the FinTech market. In his consulting capacity, he has companies and investors identify acquisition opportunities and perform due diligence.

In 2010, Mintz founded Percepta Partners LLC, an advisory firm focused on helping companies profitably accelerate growth with innovative product and market strategies in the information and enterprise software sectors, with a focus on FinTech. His client successes include helping a private equity portfolio company successfully exit at a 5X valuation. Percepta has completed numerous engagements for FinTech firms and B2B information businesses, including public, private, venture capital, and private equity portfolio companies.

Mintz has attained Governance Fellow accreditation with NACD and is active at both the national level and with the NACD Connecticut Chapter. One of the PE Company Boards on which he sat was recently sold at a significant multiple. In addition to several advisory board roles, his prior board engagements included FTEN Inc. (sold to NASDAQ) and I-Trax, a public firm sold to Walgreens, where he was a director and Audit Committee member.

Mintz earned a PhD and master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Biomedical) from the University of Toronto, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba. He resides with his wife in Greenwich, Connecticut, and enjoys the arts, fine dining, and his favorite passion: being an architect of technology-driven company growth.
