Maureen Upton
Executive Director
Maureen Upton is executive director of the NACD Colorado Chapter. She joined her first publicly traded company board in 2003 and is a current board director in the investment management and mining industries. For the exchange-traded fund trust at Janus Henderson Investors, she serves on the Audit Committee and chairs the Nominating and Governance Committee. For Cascadia Minerals, a Canadian copper-gold exploration company, she serves on the Audit and Compensation Committees.
Maureen launched the independent podcast Inside ESG in 2023, which explores sustainability risks and opportunities for executives and boards. Since 2005, she has run a consultancy advising C-suite executives on projects spanning six continents. Her corporate roles have been with Goldman Sachs, Chase, and Newmont.
She is a graduate of Boardbound by Women’s Leadership Foundation, holds cybersecurity governance credentials, and has been a member of Women Corporate Directors since 2017. She currently serves on the global Audit Steering Committee. Previously, she served on the board of the Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation.
Maureen holds an MBA in finance, a master of international affairs in economic policy from Columbia University, and a BA in philosophy from the University of California at Berkeley.
