Maria R. Clarke, CFA is an executive director and private banker with the Washington, DC, office of J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Maria advises some of the most prominent clients in the area, including affluent individuals, family offices, private equity partners, nonprofits, and institutions.

Maria takes a holistic approach across the balance sheet - investments, credit, lending, and estate strategies to help navigate the complexities of financial decision making. She focuses on pre- and post-liquidity planning, tax mitigation, and asset construction and diversification. Her clients regard her as their personal advocate who always has their best interest in mind.

Before joining J.P. Morgan, Maria spent two decades focused on private equity and institutional clients. Most recently Maria was with Bank of America Private Bank and previously was a managing principal with ISG Advisers.

Maria brings a legacy of board service and philanthropy to the community. She is past president and current advisory board member for the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at Virginia Tech and an advisory board member for NACD Capital Area. Maria has served in other substantive boards and leadership roles at Inova Health System Foundation; Inova Health System Finance and Audit, and Investment Committees; National Symphony Orchestra; International Women’s Forum; Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce; and the Executive Circle for the Northern Virginia Technology Council. She is a member of the CFA Institute; CFA Society of Washington, DC; International Women’s Forum; and the Latino Corporate Directors Association.

Maria earned her MBA in finance from the University of Miami and her BS in finance and corporate law from Florida State University. She is a graduate of Georgetown University Executive Program in International Finance and Global Markets. She also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
