William (Bill) Farrow is chair of the Chicago Board Options Exchange Global Markets (CGM). CGM is a 51-year-old global derivatives exchange with $22 billion in market capitalization. Mr. Farrow has a 45-year career in the global business community. His board experience encompasses public and private companies and government enterprises. His industry experience includes banking, consumer products, financial exchanges, pharmaceuticals, and consulting. Management roles include technology development, finance, commercial banking, mergers and acquisitions, marketing, and sales management.
He is a founding director, president, and CEO of Urban Partnership Bank, a commercial bank in headquartered in Chicago. The bank was formed in 2010 to address the lack of capital available to urban communities of Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland after the great recession of 2008. These efforts were successful, and Mr. Farrow retired in 2017.
Currently, he is a director of the Wisconsin Energy Group, CoBank (the largest lending banking in the United States farm credit system), and Endeavor Health. He serves as an advisor to Cedar Street Asset Management LLC. His former director appointments include Echo Global Logistics and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
Mr. Farrow holds a bachelor’s degree from Augustana College and a master’s degree in management from the Northwestern University J. L. Kellogg School of Management.
