James Cole Jr. serves on the board and is the chair of the nominating and corporate governance committee of American International Group Inc., a leading global insurance organization. He also serves on the board of Suited Inc., a private company that provides artificial intelligence solutions to professional services firms, and on the board of the NACD New York Chapter. Cole is currently the founder and CEO of The Jasco Group, a global multidimensional investment management firm, and is the founder and president of Jasco Philanthropies, a nonprofit organization that provides financial literacy, asset management, and entrepreneurship skills to college students. He previously served at the US Department of Education as delegated deputy secretary of education and as general counsel under President Barack Obama. Before that he was at the US Department of Transportation as deputy general counsel. Previously, Cole was a corporate law partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. Cole serves on the board or other governing bodies of several nonprofit and charitable organizations, including the University of Chicago Law School Council and Jumpstart for Young Children.
