Lisa Quateman is a seasoned corporate director, New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) audit committee financial expert, and trusted advisor. From corporate governance to real estate, her success across a variety of enterprises is underscored by her extensive background serving on the board of directors of public, private, and nonprofit corporations.
In 2011, after a merger between Polsinelli and the law firm she founded, Quateman LLP, Lisa launched a Polsinelli office in Los Angeles, introducing the firm to the expanding California market. As office managing partner for Polsinelli, she oversaw finances, risk management, business, marketing, and talent development. She specialized in complex financial, regulatory compliance and transactional matters and served as a fiduciary trustee for Polsinelli’s more than $250 million profit-sharing plan.
Prior to her recent retirement from law practice, Lisa was elected to the board of directors of Western Asset Mortgage Capital Corp. (NYSE: WMC) as a member of its audit, risk, compensation and nominating, and corporate governance committees and as CalPERS’s designated board member for ITR Concession Co. LLC (operator of the Indiana Toll Road) and its audit and risk committee.
Throughout her career, she has been a board member on a diverse portfolio of organizations, from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Ziman Center for Real Estate, which honored her in 2022, to her most recent role as a board director for AG Mortgage Investment Trust (NYSE: MITT). Private Company Director named her as a “2020 Director to Watch.” The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce named Lisa its “Board Member of the Year” in 2018. Lisa is an expert in her field, bringing her experiences in business and finance to consult on, manage, and lead the growth of organizations.
Lisa earned her bachelor of arts in French from UCLA, was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and was graduated summa cum laude. She received her juris doctor from UCLA School of Law and completed an environmental law specialty course through UCLA Extension. She is NACD Directorship Certified® and an NACD Board Leadership Fellow. She has completed coursework with the Digital Directors Network.
